Anfield Road was opened in 1884 and used to be the ground of Everton FC. Everton FC got into a fight with the landlord of Anfield and Everton left the ground. Liverpool FC became the club to play at Anfield Road.

Anfield is the ground with one of the most famous stand in football: The Spion Kop, named after a hill in South-Africa where a lot of Merseysiders were killed during the 'Boerenoorlog'.
