Maine Road in Manchester

Opened:
Seats:       31.500
Team:       Manchester City

Maine Road was build to become a 'Wembley of the North'. Built for more than 100,000 and capable of housing up to 90,000 fans. The crowd of 84,569 which watched an FA Cup tie between City and Stoke in March 1934 is a British record for any game outside London or Glasgow.

It's great that Man City is still a club where people (fans) seem to be more important than money. No 8.50 to visit the ground: just make an appointment and you will get a visitors badge to explore the stands on your own. Great!
