Alberto J. Armando (Bombonera) in Buenos Aires

Opened: May 25, 1940
Seats: 57.395
Team:  Boca Juniors

One of the most peculiar grounds I've ever seen. La Bombonera is special because the stands are so close to the pitch. It must bee very intimidating to play here against Boca. Also one of the stands is not really a stand but more a flat building along one of the long sides of the pitch.

Boca Juniors is also known for its fanatic supporters.

Boca may not be the most successful team of Argentina, it is probably the most popular. Founded in 1905 by 5 young boys (Italian immigrants) who lived in the La Boca neighbourhood. The club won several professional championships, but is remarkably successful in the beginning of the 21st century. 2 national championships, 3 Copa Libertadores, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 1 Sudamericana Cup and 1 Recopa.

The stadium tour is a must for every football fan. The museum is fantastic and the tour takes you throughout the stadium.
