In 1999 Heracles moved to the new Polman Stadion.
This ground replaced the old and characteristic
Gemeentelijk
Sportpark.
Heracles Almelo is the first team in The Netherlands to play on artificial grass,
after UEFA's approval in 2003.
Heracles Almelo has been trying for years to reach the Dutch Eredivisie. In the
2004-2005 season they finally succeeded. This promotion brought back the allure
from olden days. The board of Heracles had to increase the ground's capacity
with 2000 seats.
