Maine Road in Manchester
Opened:
Seats: 31.500
Team: Manchester City
Maine Road was build to become a 'Wembley of the North'. Built for more than £ 100,000 and capable of housing up to 90,000 fans. The crowd of 84,569 which watched an FA Cup tie between City and Stoke in March 1934 is a British record for any game outside London or Glasgow.
It's great that Man City is still a club where people (fans) seem to be more important than money. No £ 8.50 to visit the ground: just make an appointment and you will get a visitors badge to explore the stands on your own. Great!
